Amidst his responsibilities in heading the finance function of a leading public quoted conglomerate in the country, he is a sought-after CA and ACCA lecturer in the country for the key subjects Financial Reporting and Financial Management. Being a lecturer with 17 years of experience, he has produced 16 national prize winners plus a world prize winner and has guided many students to successfully complete CA and ACCA.

Corporate Profile

With over 17 years of experience in the corporate sector, Dasun is currently the Group Chief Financial Officer of E.B. Creasy & Co. PLC and its subsidiaries, providing overall leadership for the finance function of the Group. He is also a non-executive director of two public quoted companies in the E.B. Creasy group. He has past experience working as the General Manager – Finance in a number of companies at Ceylon Biscuits Limited Group and Finance Manager at Hemas Holdings PLC. He commenced his career at KPMG Sri Lanka, where he worked in different capacities, carrying out SLFRS conversion assignments, external audits and providing Financial Reporting advisory services for clients.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

Dasun is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of UK (FCCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA) and Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments of UK (MCSI). He has a First-Class Honors BSc Finance Special Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Dasun has completed his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ – Australia).

Achievements

Dasun’s achievements in terms of the ACCA qualification is unparalleled as he was able to secure 5 Sri Lankan prizes including the prize awarded for Sri Lanka’s most outstanding ACCA Affiliate.

He was also able to excel in his academic studies by securing a First-Class Honors BSc Finance Special Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and was ranked as the batch top in the Degree Program. He was awarded the Gold medals for the best performance in the Degree Program and best performance in Capital Market related subjects.

Contribution to the Profession

Dasun contributed to the curriculum revision process of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) in the Financial Reporting Pillar. He is a s past member of the Financial Reporting Standards Implementation & Interpretation Task Force of CA Sri Lanka and is a presenter at the annual accounting seminar series conducted by CA Sri Lanka. Dasun was also a past committee member of ACCA member network panel which is the governing body of ACCA Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh.
