Rakitha Jayatunge possesses an impressive academic and professional background that bridges the fields of law and finance. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Merit from the University of West London, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Colombo, and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Rakitha earned First Class Honours at the Sri Lanka Law College and was admitted to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law in 2008. Further enhancing his credentials, he is a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK.

Rakitha serves as a distinguished visiting lecturer in Company Law for several reputed UK-affiliated degree programs, including those offered by the University of London, Staffordshire University, and the University of the West of England. He currently works as a Legal Consultant at Chambers Colombo Law Firm, Colombo 07. His previous roles include serving as the Director – Transfer Pricing at Jayasinghe & Co., Chartered Accountants, affiliated with Russell Bedford International. He combines his legal acumen and financial expertise to provide strategic advisory services to corporations, especially in regulatory compliance and tax-related matters.

Contribution to the Profession

Rakitha’s contribution extends beyond academia and corporate consultancy into professional and policy-making spheres. He is a council member of the ACCA Sri Lanka Members Network Panel, playing a strategic role in shaping the professional development of ACCA members in the country. He is also a member of the Tax Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, contributing to legal discourse and reform. Additionally, he currently serves on the Advisory Committee appointed by the Minister of Justice to review the Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Ordinance, showcasing his active involvement in legislative and policy advancements in Sri Lanka.
